DBasia.news – From just a rumor, Luka Modric’s transfer issue involving Real Madrid and Inter Milan is getting worse. Previously, Madrid stated their complaint to FIFA as the International Football Association due to an illegal approach from Inter.
Madrid assumed Inter didn’t propose to the club’s board of directors and persuaded the Croatian 32-year-old midfielder. If true, it was violating FIFA regulation about the player transfer.
The regulation is banning the negotiation with player tied with a contract with another club, when the club didn’t include him within the transfer list. It means, Madrid didn’t want to sell Modric, and Modric didn’t propose the transfer request to the club as well.
Modric’s case is different from Cristiano Ronaldo because Ronaldo wanted to join Juventus and told the club about his intention. Inter responded to Madrid complaint to FIFA.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Inter sent a letter to FIFA stating that they never called Modric, or started the direct negotiation either. FIFA would learn about the case and decide who is right or wrong in Modric’s case.
Whatever it is, Inter failed to recruit the Croatia national team captain because the transfer market in Italy has been closed. Modric will continue his dedication in Madrid, his club since 2012.
