Morata and Saul Takes Atletico to Fourth Place

DBasia.news –  Alvaro Morata and Saul Niguez led Atletico Madrid to fourth place in the Spanish league table, after the player’s second goal gave them a 2-0 win over Osasuna.

The victory in the match played at Wanda Metropolitano, Madrid, has made Atletico now collect 29 points.

As for Osasuna, the result forced them to be held in tenth place with 23 points.

Osasuna goalkeeper, Sergio Herrera, started the game in the first half by muffling Morata’s shot, before then the former Juventus striker was a feeder to Joao Felix. Herrera was able to thwart Joao Felix’s chances with his feet.

In the second half, Herrera’s perfromance did not slacken. He prevented the net from conceding from Joao’s header and brushed aside Thomas Partey’s long-range shot.

But Herrera’s toughness reached its limit in the 67th minute. Starting with Kieran Trippier’s free kick, the ball was then struck by Morata. It was also Morata’s first goal in the past month.

Saul Niguez doubled the advantage of Los Rjiblancos with 15 minutes left to play. He moved from an unusual position on the left side, to then conquering the goalkeeper.
