Mourinho About Liverpool Great Spending

DBasia.news – Manchester United manager starts the heat ahead of the Premier League. This time, he sets the target to the rival club Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.

Mourinho adds the pressure of Klopp by stating about Liverpool’s activity in the transfer market. Mourinho asks the media to demand them to win the Premier League this season.

Liverpool is one of the clubs spent so much in the transfer market to fix the fourth position last season. The Reds movement can be seen since January when they got Virgil van Dijk worth £75M. Previously, Liverpool recruited Naby Keita worth £52,7M.

Ahead of the new season, Liverpool spent much more money by getting Fabinho (£40M), Alisson Becker (£56,2M), and Xherdan Shaqiri (£13,2M).

Mourinho thinks the money spent by Liverpool is growing the expectation. Also, Mourinho wants to ensure Klopp realizes about that.

“Maybe this season finally you demand that they win. I can’t see anyone else getting close to spending what they have (this summer). A team that was a finalist in the Champions League, you have to say you are a big candidate, you have to win.”

Mourinho’s statement seems like returning Klopp’s response that said Paul Pogba great spending by Man United back at 2016. At that time, Klopp said he wouldn’t stay calm if spending too much money.

“I think if you have the money if you invest well, it is better than to have it in the bank. Because the interest rates are very low,” Mourinho said a joke.

“You know, you can change your opinion and change as a person, it’s funny,” Mourinho teased Klopp.
