DBasia.news – Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci wants his team to avoid meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, who is currently coached by Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino last week. He immediately brought The Lilywhites to defeat West Ham United and Olympiacos. Thanks to the victory over Olympiacos, The Lilywhites qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League.
“I want to avoid Tottenham. With the arrival of Mourinho, in a few matches, he can give them something extra. But February and March are still far away. In a knockout match, without wanting to take anything from Pochettino, Mourinho knows how to bring out the best in his players,” Bonucci said at Soccerway.
On that occasion, Bonucci also claimed not to be surprised by the development of Inter Milan this season.
“We know that with the arrival of Antonio Conte, Inter will again fight at the top of the table and in the Champions League. But, I think about my team, we aim to give our best to reach the final stages of each competition and lift the trophy.”
“So far we have run well, we have scored a small goal against Atletico Madrid which can enable us to have easier lottery results, but now we have to think about the league again,” Bonucci added.
