MU’s Legend Relieved De Gea Contract Saga Expires

DBasia.news –  Manchester United legend, Peter Schmeichel, is very happy the David de Gea contract saga has ended.

“Finally De Gea signed a contract because it was one of those situations that if it took too long, it would hurt the club. That gets to the point where you say, ‘Either you sign a contract or you leave, but you have to tell us because we have to move forward’,” Schmeichel said.

“The situation at (United) is that we know some of the players in the squad have to leave and we need to bring in more players, different types of players. I think the manager needs to know, ‘Is David holding out or is he leaving? Because I have to move forward ‘, but he extended his contract and that’s great.”

De Gea has officially signed a long-term contract with United. He was bound by work agreements until 2023. De Gea will get a salary of 375 thousand pounds (IDR 6.54 billion) per week.
