Napoli Will Not Lower Kalidou Koulibaly Price To Manchester City

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester City’s desire to bring in Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli encountered obstacles. Il Partenopei reportedly refused to provide a discount for this flagship defender.

Manchester City are indeed looking for one more center-back to complete Pep Guardiola’s squad. Koulibaly is considered to be the right person to fill the position.

The Citzens and Koulibaly have reportedly entered into a personal agreement. The Senegalese defender will be rewarded with a five-year contract with a salary of 10 million euros per season.

But the agreement is meaningless if Manchester City do not get the blessing of Napoli. The club from Naples certainly wants to get a big profit from the sale of Koulibaly.

Napoli reportedly sold Koulibaly for 80 million euros. The amount is actually lower than one last season which reached 100 million euros.

The problem is, Manchester City are reluctant to spend that much money. Apart from being during the pandemic, they are also worried that they will violate the Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations again.

Unfortunately, Napoli don’t care about that. They don’t want to reduce Koulibaly’s price.

“Koulibaly has the exact asking price, and if the club does not get the money asked for then he will not go,” Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso told Sky Sport Italia.

The Koulibaly transfer saga looks set to continue until 5 October. Manchester City’s seriousness in finding targeted players is now facing serious tests.
