DBasia.news – Ahead of the winter transfer window in January 2020, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said there were still things in his club that needed improvement. Lampard also remains open to the possibility of shopping for players in the upcoming transfer market.
Chelsea can indeed go back to spending players after their transfer embargo sentenced by the World Sports Court. Previously, the Blues were sentenced to ban bringing new players in the two transfer markets.
“At the beginning of the season, many people think that Chelsea is now inhabited by many young players and do not need to bring in a new figure. But, here we still need a balance,” Frank Lampard said as quoted by Reuters.
“I’m sure we have a strong enough squad. But, there are several sectors that we can still fix both in January or next summer. We will continue to look for opportunities to strengthen several sectors that need to be addressed,” Lampard added.
Currently, the Blues are reportedly looking for a capable left-back. Because the appearance of Cesar Azpilicueta, Emerson Palmieri, and Marcos Alonso at the left-back position often get harsh criticism.
One of the players who reportedly entered the Chelsea radar is Leicester City’s mainstay left-back, Ben Chilwell. However, the Blues must disburse substantial funds if you want to land Chilwell to Stamford Bridge after he was able to perform nicely with Leicester this season.
