DBasia.news – Plans for the construction of a new stadium in the city of Milan that were proposed by Inter Milan and AC Milan met with gravel again because the two clubs were forced by the city council to submit new ideas starting with the care of the San Siro Stadium.
That was raised in a tripartite meeting between the management of Inter, AC Milan and the city council, which implied that the San Siro would be retained.
“From the meeting with the city council, we received indications of the idea of treating San Siro,” Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello said.
“We are discussing several hypotheses and once again the club is ready to work together. We are preparing a new idea, starting with the maintenance of the San Siro,” he added.
Meanwhile, AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni insisted that the new stadium built around the same location could stand side by side with the San Siro.
“The city council said it would continue to look after the San Siro. Of course, this is an innovative idea because you rarely see two stadiums that are only 100 meters adrift,” he said.
“We will see the feasibility of this idea. If not, the city council says it is ready to conduct another possibility analysis to save existing land,” Scaroni added.
