DBasia.news – In the midst of the many issues regarding the acquisition of Newcastle United from Mike Ashley to PCP Capital Partners, the fans have imagined the new squad and manager if the club had really been taken over by PCP.
PCP is led by Amanda Staveley and has strong financial support from Saudi Arabia, directly under Prince Mohammad bin Salman who incidentally is the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. With PIF (Public Investment Fund) they will purchase 80 percent of Newcastle’s shares.
Pros and cons still accompany the issue of the takeover, as there are still those who believe that Saudi Arabia is not eligible to have a Premier League club because of human rights record. Not to mention opposition from Premier League broadcaster sponsors.
But that doesn’t stop fans from dreaming. One man who is said to be the club manager replacing Steve Bruce is Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine manager has not coached since he was last with Tottenham Hotspur for five years (2014-2019). His coaching career has said a lot.
Pochettino developed Tottenham with his game philosophy, plus orbiting talented young players who are now European stars, for example: Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and Son Heung-min.
According to the news published by Mirror, Newcastle will make Pochettino the third highest-paid manager in the world after Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola.
The Magpies will offer a contract of 19 million pounds per year – 400,000 pounds per week – for Pochettino so that he comes to Saint James Park. Newcastle hope Pochettino can provide magic like when he was at Spurs.
Pochettino (48 years) also said in February that he did not object in re-training in the Premier League, even though the team he coached was the rival team of the Spurs. “I want to work again in the Premier League. I am ready and waiting for the next challenge. Having more confidence will be a fantastic thing,” Pochettino said last February.
