Officially Extends New Contract, Zlatan Ibrahimovic Becomes Player with Highest Salary at AC Milan

DBasia.news – AC Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly finally met a common ground in the new contract talks. Ibra will remain at the San Siro for the 2020-2021 season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined in the middle of the 2019-2020 season. At that time, with his experience and abilities, it was hoped that Ibra could become a goal machine. Ibra got rid of Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek.

The striker answered the challenge well. From 20 matches, Ibra scored 11 goals plus five assists.

The incision made Milan want to activate the contract extension clause for one more season. Moreover, the Rossoneri are still coached by Stefano Pioli who believes in Ibra’s abilities.

However, it is not easy to reach common ground in negotiations. The Swedish striker wants to get a high salary. If not, Ibra plans to leave. Reportedly, Atletico Madrid are ready to accommodate the striker.

AC Milan, which did not want to lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic, finally relented. Milan will pay Ibra 7 million euros per season without bonuses. This value makes Ibra one of the highest-paid players at Il Diavolo Rosso.

According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Ibra will soon meet Milan to sign a contract. The 38-year-old striker will still wear Milan’s jersey number 9 in the 2020-2021 season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be expelled from the AC Milan project if Ralf Rangnick becomes coach. Rangnick is believed to prefer a potential young striker. However, in the end, Rangnick did not come and Ibra survived.
