DBasia.news – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, manager of Manchester United, believes his team will not be too wasteful to spend the money they have to buy new players.
The arrival of new players is expected to occur in the summer because United need improvement on many fronts. Especially if you see five defeats from Manchester United last seven matches in all competitions under the direction of Solskjaer.
The Red Devils at least need additional players in the back, center and one on the front lines. However, Solskjaer denied that United would spend on large players in the player transfer market. The club will bring in players as needed.
“We know we have to be realistic and we know we have work to do. There is no quick fix – it’s not like we bought seven players and suddenly there is the desired form of play,” Solskjaer said, quoted from Guardian.
“We are like this. We have to take one step at a time (slowly) and of course, there will be recruits later in the summer.”
“I don’t know if all the critics know what’s going on. We have a talent guide monitoring the earth to find good footballers and we will bring them the right ones – character, quality, price. I am sure we do everything we can to get the right players,” he explained.
In addition to believing that recruits will come later, Solskjaer also expects commitment from United players when returning to training in pre-season ahead of the 2019-20 season. They must maintain body condition so as not to be overweight while on vacation.
“There will be recruits, but the players must come back knowing the facts of what is expected of them on the first day of the pre-season,” Solskjaer added.
“Now it’s not like in the 90s when you came overweight and started working again (in preseason). It would be great to wait for those who are back in ready condition,” concluded the legend of United in the mid 1996-2007.
