DBasia.news – Jose Mourinho has been sacked from Manchester United. The Red Devils appointed the interim coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Manchester United announced today that former striker Ole Gunnar … end of the 2018/19 season,” said the statement in Man United’s official website.
Man United try to return the old tradition by appointing someone who knows well the club. Solskjaer, 45, is Man United legend who played there from 1996 until 2007 with 126 goals from 366 matches.
Solskjaer would be accompanied by the coach Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick, and Kieran McKenna in their coaching staff. Returning to Old Trafford, the Norway coach looks forward to the journey with his former club.
“Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role. I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club,” Solskjaer said.
Man United Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward added Solskjaer could unite the squad and develops Man United to the second half of the season positively.
“Ole is a club legend with huge experience, both on the pitch and in coaching roles. His history at Manchester United means he lives and breathes the culture here,” Woodward added.
“Everyone at the club is delighted to have him and Mike Phelan back. We are confident they will unite the players and the fans as we head into the second half of the season,” he continued.
From the managerial career, Solskjaer is experienced coaching Molde, Cardiff City, and U19 Clausenengen. He also achieved the Tippeligaen with Molde.
