DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is optimistic that his team is on the right track to rise and repeat the glory of last season.
It’s no secret that United have suffered a setback in the last few seasons and a dramatic drop in performance. Their inconsistency can be seen from the change of managers after Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, are three names who became managers after the Ferguson era before Solskjaer arrived in December 2018. The Premier League title was last won in 2013. Even so, Solskjaer never stopped hoping.
“We (United) can return to our previous level, that is obvious. We are on our way to build a new squad,” Solskjaer said, as quoted by Goal.
“We have got a new coaching staff, I really believe in this club and this project. Being a club manager is fantastic,” he continued.
Man United have so far recruited two young players, Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Solskjaer has high hopes for them and other young players to have the fighting soul and high spirits like the former United captain, Bryan Robson.
“I have never had the honor of playing with Robo (Bryan Robson), but we need players who seem to be on the team,” Solskjaer added.
“Of course we are waiting for young players to emerge as we have many attractive players. I am sure we will all see the best abilities from them in the next few years. There are some experienced players who still have the remaining contracts too.”
