DBasia.news – Olivier Giroud reportedly agreed to join the Italian club, Inter Milan. Sources such as ESPN say that the Chelsea striker’s move was almost completed at 7 million pounds.
Once Matteo Politano’s transfer from Inter to Rome was formalized, Giroud’s move will be confirmed after negotiations between Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and Inter sporting director Beppe Marotta went smoothly.
The 33-year-old has agreed on a two-and-a-half-year contract with Inter that will keep him at the club until June 2022.
He will reunite with Antonio Conte who signed him for Chelsea from Arsenal in January 2018.
Conte needs a third striker with a different profile than Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. And Giroud has always been his priority.
Giroud will be part of the rotation ahead with Inter who are still in the hunt to win the Serie A in addition to the Coppa d’Italia quarter-finals and the round of 32 of the Europa League.
Giroud asked for a move after it was difficult to play under Frank Lampard in the first half of the season.
He only played twice as a Premier League starter and three times appeared as a substitute and only 17 minutes played in the Champions League.
