DBasia.news – Two clubs from London, Chelsea, and Arsenal will clash with each other in the Europa League final which takes place in Baku, Azerbaijan, Thursday (30/5) early morning Western Indonesian Time.
The match also brings together several players who have defended both clubs in their careers, Olivier Giroud who joined the Blues in January 2018, and Petr Cech who joined the Gunners in the 2015/16 season.
Even though it would be an emotional moment, Giroud stressed that he would show his best ability because he was committed to Chelsea and would not pay attention to his experience of defending Arsenal for six years.
“I always feel happy when I get the chance to face a team that I have defended. This match will be difficult, and if it doesn’t go according to plan it can cause unpleasant feelings, but I have to forget my feelings and memories with them,” Olivier Giroud said in an interview quoted from Goal.
Giroud claimed to be very grateful for his experience of defending Arsenal and considered the North London club a big part of his career, but now his commitment is to Chelsea, a club that gives him a positive response when joining and does not make it difficult to adapt.
