DBasia.news – Gennaro Gattuso left Fiorentina just 23 days after being appointed coach, Thursday (17/6). Gattuso and Fiorentina are reportedly involved in a conflict over transfer policy.
The former Napoli manager was introduced on May 25 on a two-year contract. Gattuso will actually start working with Fiorentina on July 1. However, a conflict arose regarding La Viola’s transfer strategy.
Reported by Sky Sport Italia, Gattuso and his agent Jorge Mendes recommended that Fiorentina bring in players such as Porto midfielder Sergio Oliviera and Valencia winger Goncalo Guedes. However, the club wants another target, which is cheaper.
“Fiorentina and Gattuso have, by mutual agreement, decided to terminate their previous agreement and will not work together ahead of next season,” a club statement said.
“The club immediately started work to identify options that would guide the club towards the results it deserves for Fiorentina and the City of Florence.”
