DBasia.news – Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes Mohamed Salah’s selfishness will not be a problem in the future for his former club.
“There has to be (the attacker) being unselfish and (the attacker being) being selfish, otherwise you won’t be able to score.”
Owen himself considered that if he cooperated with an attacker who was as selfish as he was, the results would be worse.
Salah’s colleague on the Liverpool front line, Sadio Mane, was seen spilling his frustration at the Egyptian attacker when the Reds won 3-0 over Burnley in early September.
In Owen’s view, Liverpool currently have a very good mix in their three forward strikers.
Owen sees Roberto Firmino as a very unselfish attacker, Salah as an attacker who focuses on scoring goals and wants to be the top scorer, and Mane who is half selfish and half unselfish.
But the former Real Madrid striker believes that the incident at Burnley’s headquarters will make Salah realize that he is more likely to share the ball with other attackers who are in a better position.
“If he (Salah) does it, I’m sure this (problem) will be forgotten, but the players are at a very high level and small things can happen. That’s not a problem,” Owen said.
