Ozan Kabak enters Liverpool’s Transfer Radar

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Dejan Lovren’s departure to Zenit Saint Petersburg opened the opportunity for Liverpool to recruit another defender. Reportedly they are after Ozan Kabak, Schalke’s defender.

After completing the Premier League season successfully, the Reds finally let go of one of their experienced defenders, Dejan Lovren to Russian club, Zenit St. Petersburg. Not wanting to lose their strength for next season, Jurgen Klopp’s squad is now reportedly targeting the defender from Schalke, Ozan Kabak.

The 20-year-old defender has been able to become a major player at the Bundesliga club this season. This seems to have made the Reds interested in bringing in the player who was actually brought in by Schalke last summer.

According to a report from Bild, the Reds are serious about bringing Kabak as he is considered to be the right figure as a substitute for Lovren. With his young age, it is possible for the Turkish national team player to also be able to become a mainstay of Liverpool’s back line for the next few years.

However, it will not be easy for the Reds to be able to bring in the player as Schalke will reportedly ask for at least Rp 596 billion as a transfer fee. This amount does not seem to be too high, but Liverpool’s management appeared to be quite careful in their spending for the next season as they have invested a large amount to create the championship squad they have at the moment.

However, given that they have indeed released Lovren, surely a substitute must be brought in this summer. If Kabak is indeed a figure desired by Klopp, it is not possible that the management of the club from Merseyside will try to obtain the player, although of course they will negotiate as much as possible.

It is quite reasonable for Schalke to not want to lose their young defender, especially because the Turkish player was just entered at the start of the season from VfB Stuttgart. Signing a five-year contract, the Royal Blues do not have the obligation to release Kabak at a low price to any club, including Liverpool.
