The 1-1 draw position also lasted until the game ended. Tottenham are still at the top of the standings with 25 points, because Liverpool also reaped the same results when they visited Fulham headquarters.

The course of the match

The 2,000 supporters present at Selhurst Park were enough to make the hosts play hard against city rivals. The Spurs had two chances from Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane and Palace keeper, Vicente Guaita made great saves.

A new goal was created in the 23rd minute. Again, the neat collaboration between the Spurs’ deadly duet Son Heung-min and Kane led to a goal. Son provided an assist and was converted by Kane into goals. 1-0 Spurs ahead.

The Spurs defense was solid after the goal they created. Palace was unable to stop it until the match in the first half ended 1-0 for the Spurs’ advantage.

Palace were only able to respond in the second half and towards the end of the match. Jeffrey Schlupp netted Palace’s equalizer on the 81st minutes from a corner kick. Hugo Lloris failed to clear the ball and Schlupp easily turned it into a goal. 1-1.

Vicente Guaita deserved to be the best player in this match. Again, the Spanish goalkeeper gave difficulty to Jose Mourinho’s team with his heroic actions. This time in preventing a chance from Kane in the 87th minute.

Four minutes of stoppage time were given and no more goals were scored. The inclusion of Dele Alli, Ben Davies and Giovani Lo Celso did not change the situation for Tottenham. They must be satisfied with the 1-1 score.
