DBasia.news – Former Juventus defender Medhi Benatia believes that Pep Guardiola is a very appropriate figure to train the Bianconerri. Benatia considers Guardiola to be the greatest manager in the world.
Rumors of Juventus’ interest in bringing Guardiola are indeed not a figment. The name Guardiola was considered by the Bianconerri management before finally appointing Maurizio Sarri in the summer of 2019.
Now, Guardiola’s name has been raised again after the Bianconerri are reportedly dissatisfied with Sarri’s performance. Italian media had reported that Sarri would be fired at the end of the 2019/20 season.
“Tactically, Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world. There is no coach better than him. But, I don’t like the way he maintains relations with the players,” Medhi Benatia said as quoted from the Italian Football website.
“In my view, Guardiola has a profile that is very suitable to become Juventus coach. However, I also really like the typical Sarri play style,” added Benatia added.
Furthermore, Benatia also commented on the appearance of Juventus who had been inconsistent this season. He claimed not to be too surprised by the appearance of the Bianconerri who were still adapting to Sarri’s playing style.
“This year things seem to be a little more complicated for Juventus. But, every change does require more patience. In addition, at the moment Juve is also still a superior team that can always win,” concluded Benatia.
