Pep Guardiola is dissatisfied With Manchester City’s Performance

DBasia.news – Manchester City won 3-0 victory over Burnley and reached the quarter-finals of the Premier League Cup. Even so, Pep Guardiola admits that he is still far from being satisfied with the performance of his team.

Manchester City won 3-0 when they visited Turf Moor, Thursday (1/10/2020) am, WIB in the fourth round match of the Premier League Cup. Two goals were scored by Raheem Sterling in the 35th and 49th minutes, followed by Ferran Torres’ third in the 65th minute.

The team coached by Pep Guardiola dominated the match since after the game began. Whoscored noted that City had 62% possession of the ball, fired 15 shots with eight on target and one chance at the post.

The hosts who struggled to develop the game had nine attempts in which only two led to the goal.

In this match, City were forced to still play Sterling as the spearhead following the injury to Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. Guardiola also played two young players, Torres and Cole Palmer to support Sterling, along with Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez.

But Guardiola’s overall appearance is far from the level that City should be able to show. The absence of a number of players is admittedly hampering the progress of the team.

“It’s important that we don’t concede and the team plays well in general. We are still far from our best game, because we haven’t trained much,” he told Sky Sports as quoted by the BBC.

“We lost a lot of players, six because of COVID and four because of injuries. But step by step, when our squad is full, we will be even better.”

“I hope we will not be too far from those in front. But we are in the quarter-finals of this competition, so this is good,” he continued.
