Pep Guardiola Surrender After Losing

DBasia.news –  Wolves beat Manchester City in the 19th week of the Premier League continued with a score of 3-2. Pep Guardiola, City manager, has begun to realistically see his team’s chance of defending the Premier League title.

The Citizens – City nickname – lost 2-3, Saturday (28/12) early morning Western Indonesian Time. The drama had occurred when Ederson was sent off in the 12th minute. However, Man City had a 2-0 lead through goals scored by Raheem Sterling (25′ and 50′).

But Wolves comeback moment occurred at minute 55 via a goal scored by Adama Traore. After the goal, Raul Jimenez (82′) and Matt Doherty (89′) reversed the situation to 3-2. It was City’s fifth defeat this season in the Premier League.

Man City’s current distance from Liverpool, who have never lost and is at the top of the standings by 14 points. Add to this the fact Liverpool still have one match postponed, it is only natural that Guardiola began to surrender about City’s chance to defend their two consecutive Premier League titles.

“The advantage (for Liverpool) is too big. It is very unrealistic if we think of Liverpool. We only think about Leicester (City),” Pep Guardiola said after the match ended, quoted by BBC Sport.

“We have the opportunity to return to second place. I know the quality of this team, but the situation is indeed like this,” added the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach.

Wolves won the victory thanks to the superior number of their players. That can be seen with 63 percent possession, 20 kicks and eight of them on target.

“We are unyielding (persistent) and we will continue to fight, no matter what will happen (after the fight),” said the Wolves manager who has beaten City twice this season, Nuno Espirito Santo.
