Peter Bosz’s statement regarding the issue of Kai Havertz’s departure to Real Madrid

DBasia.news – The absence of Kai Havertz in the match between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich raises questions as well as various speculations.

The rumors, the midfielder’s absence was closely related to rumors that claimed he would move closer to Real Madrid or Manchester City in the transfer market this summer.

In the match itself, without Havertz, Leverkusen suffered a crushing defeat, 4-2, from The Bavarian at BayArena.

Not wanting the rumors to go out of control, Peter Bosz, Leverkusen coach, provided clarification regarding the absence of Havertz in a critical match against the top of the Bundesliga standings.

“He injured his knee when against Freiburg,” Bosz explained to Archie Rhind-Tutt via Fox Soccer, dampening speculation ragarding Havertz’s future.

“He tried to undergo training with us this week, but that was considered to be too soon [for the recovery process],” explained the tactician.

Bosz hoped that the injury suffered by Havertz was not too protracted as the player was one of Leverkusen’s pedestal throughout the 2019/20 campaign.

“I believe this will not take weeks, but [today’s match] is coming too soon,” said Bosz, who thinks Havertz still needs more time to recover.

Madrid and City are said to be interested in Havertz in the transfer window this summer. In fact, the first team is believed to have submitted a bid proposal worth £ 71 million. But there is no clear gesture from Leverkusen regarding the proposal.

The 20-year-old player has become an irreplaceable figure at Leverkusen. He has made 38 appearances in all competitions this season by successfully packing 16 goals and seven assists, an impressive record that has made many of Europe’s top clubs interested in him.

In the interim table of the German Bundesliga, Leverkusen occupies fifth place with the acquisition of 56 points, the same amount with the top four ruler, Borussia M’gladbach.
