DBasia.news – Chelsea legend Petr Cech discusses the competition map of Group H that his former club inhabited along with Lille, Valencia and Ajax Amsterdam.
Chelsea qualifies for the 2019-2020 Champions League with the status of champions of the Europa League. As a result, Frank Lampard’s squad occupied the first pot with Liverpool and the league champions.
Judging from the competition map of Group H, Chelsea is still superior. The Blues are predicted to overcome the resistance of Lille, Ajax, and Valencia.
However, Petr Cech does not want to be big-headed. Moreover, Chelsea has never faced Lille and Ajax. Cech estimates the match against the two clubs will be interesting.
“They are a new team for Chelsea supporters and clubs. So, this will be a brand-new and exciting match,” Cech said as reported by BT Sport.
Cech’s attitude of not looking at the other contestants with one eye was right. For example, Ajax was one of the dark horses last season. In fact, the Dutch representative was able to penetrate the semifinals before being defeated by Tottenham Hotspur.
“Ajax Amsterdam played fantastic last season. They want to repeat that. However, we also look forward to the challenge. Of course, we want to escape,” continued the former Arsenal.
“We want to do our best, compete in every game, try to win and get through the group stages,” said Petr Cech.
“When it is in the knockout round, anything can happen. However, our first target is to qualify for the next round,” explained Cech.
Based on statistics, Chelsea has never lost when facing Valencia. Of the last six matches, the Blues have won three wins and three draws.
