DBasia.news – Gabonese football president, Pierre Alain Mounguengui, suggested Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join a “more ambitious club” from Arsenal if he wanted to save his career.
Aubameyang has gained status as one of the most ferocious attackers since joining Arsenal since January 2018. The Gabonese striker needs just one more to record 50 goals in the Premier League.
But Aubameyang’s glorious performance hasn’t helped Arsenal win the trophy. They were only able to be runner-up in the League Cup and Europa League. Whereas in the Premier League, Arsenal’s achievement was more or less satisfying.
For this reason, FEGAFOOT president, Pierre Alain Mounguengui, suggested Aumabeyang look for a more ambitious club.
“I’m not saying Arsenal is not ambitious. But they don’t have ambitions as big as other clubs,” Mounguengui told ESPN.
“If Aubameyang is able to join a more ambitious club, he will be in the right place.”
“Individually, he is among the best players in the world. I suggest, he continues to work hard to be able to attract the attention of big clubs,” he concluded.
Mounguengui was not the first to suggest Aubameyang to find a new club. Previously Ian Wright stated that Aubameyang should be able to play at a higher level. Interestingly, Ian Wright is an Arsenal legend.
“Imagine if he plays with a better team. He will be able to become a Premier League champion and play a prestigious event like the Champions League final,” Wright exclaimed.
Aubameyang’s contract with Arsenal will expire in 2021. The player is reportedly unwilling to extend his contract.
