DBasia.news – Poland and Austria made sure to qualify for the 2020 European Cup finals representing Group G after winning over their opponents in the qualifying round.
Poland won 2-1 at home to Israel thanks to goals from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Krzsztof Piatek respectively in minutes 4 and 54. While the hosts’ goals were scored by Moanes Dabour in the 88th minute.
In another match in Group G, Austria were certain to qualify for the finals after beating Northern Macedonia 2-1 at Ernst Happel Stadium.
Austria took a quick lead in the 7th minute through David Alaba’s right foot kick after maximizing Stefan Lainer’s breakthrough bait.
Stefan Lainer became a key player in this match. After providing an assist for Alaba, he also managed to nettle the ball in the 47th minute through a measured kick from the middle of the penalty box.
While the Northern Macedonia consolation goal was created in extra time in the second half on 90 + 2 through Vlatko Stojanovski’s header which maximized Enis Bardhi’s set piece.
