DBasia.news – Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie de Jong dropped the hint to leave by his compliment for Barcelona. However, he hasn’t decided about his future career.
Frenkie de Jong is one of the most-wanted Europe young players. No wonder, the Dutch player is the backbone of Ajax Amsterdam since he was young.
This season, De Jong played in 27 caps with 4 goals and 1 assist. The performance brought him called-up by the Netherlands national team.
No wonder, some Europe big clubs are hunting for his signature. Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona are doing the same.
A source said currently Paris Saint-Germain are one step ahead of other clubs. Les Parisiens are ready to spend up to 70 million euro for the 21-year-old player.
However, De Jong denied the issue and said that he hasn’t taken any decision. He praised Barcelona instead.
“I’m not going to make a hasty decision, but I’d like to be clear about it myself pretty quickly. I do not know if I’ll make it known to the public,” De Jong told Fox Sports after awarded Player of the Month Eredivisie.
“When I was in Barcelona, people thought I would join them, but that’s not the case. Everyone knows that I think Barcelona is a beautiful club, but I don’t know if I should see my career as a city trip.”
Actually, Ajax aren’t the first club who noticed his talent. In July 2014, De Jong joined U21 Willem II before moving to Ajax the next season.
Possibility: 55 Percent
Barcelona could utilize De Jong’s intention to defeat PSG and Manchester City. But, El Barca must be ready of the transfer fee war.
