PSG are in the hunt for Robert Lewandowski

DBasia.news – The transfer of Robert Lewandowski involving Bayern Munchen and Barcelona is not over yet, but it is not clear which club the Polish player will choose. The competition heated up when Paris Saint-Germain aka PSG was also interested in Lewandowski.

As reported by French media L’Equipe, PSG got involved in the competition because they saw Lewandowski could increase the attacking power of Les Parisiens, PSG’s nickname.

Lewandowski still has a contract with Bayern Munchen until 2023, but the relationship between the two at the moment is heated. Bayern want the 33-year-old forward to complete his contract, but on the one hand, Lewandowski has made up his mind to leave this summer.

“Am I optimistic about joining for Barca? That’s a good question, I don’t like being in this situation. What is certain for now is that my era at Bayern is over. I don’t see the possibility of continuing at that club,” Lewandowski told SPORT some time ago.

“Let’s see what we can do in the next two weeks. I don’t want to continue and I want to focus on Poland. After the Nations League, we will have time to talk about the situation, but I don’t see the opportunity to continue more at Bayern.”

A firm statement from Lewandowski which made Bayern’s top officials frantic. Barcelona are so far the only club that has been linked with Lewandowski.

However, now there is news of PSG heating up the transfer issue. Given their financial strength, as well as the success of bringing in Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos in the summer of 2021, why hasn’t that happened again to Lewandowski?

Money is not a problem for PSG, but from a sporting perspective, PSG already have Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi up front. Not to mention Mauro Icardi. Signing Lewandowski will only upset the balance of the squad.

But if the rumors are true, Barcelona should be worried as PSG have an attraction for European stars through the huge salaries they offer. It’s interesting to see the end of Robert Lewandowski’s transfer saga.
