PSG Midfielder Asked to Explain the Barcelona Transfer Issue

DBasia.news – Barcelona is still curious to get the midfielder in this summer transfer market. So far, Blaugrana are facing difficulty to get the targets, from Frenkie de Jong to Adrien Rabiot.

The latter is considered as the ideal player to join Barcelona. Rabiot, 23, can play as the defending midfielder or help the attack, box to box midfielder. His young age also makes him a long-term investment.

The problem is, Barcelona’s relationship with Rabiot’s club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) isn’t good. Their relationship was distant since Neymar’s transfer last year worth 222 million euro.

Moreover, PSG once rejected Barca’s offer who interested to Marco Verratti, Angel Di Maria, and Marquinhos. So, Barca’s mission to recruit Rabiot will be much more difficult.

Thomas Tuchel, PSG coach, also talked about Rabiot’s transfer issue. He asked the PSG academy alumnus to talked to the public regarding his future. Whether stay or leave, it’s time to speak and stop the speculation about himself.

“I think he can still get better and there are still steps for him to take so I’m convinced that he can reach a new level at this club. For me, it is very important to have players who came through at a club but he has a complicated contract situation (one year left to run). In that type of situation, it is the player who has to decide. He has to show his commitment,” Tuchel as reported by ESPN.

Rabiot is predicted worth £40-45M. Since promoted to the main squad of PSG in 2012, also loaned to Toulouse in 2013, Rabiot scored 220 performances in his professional career with 23 goals and 18 assists.
