PSG Will Not Sell Neymar and Mbappe because of FFP Violation Threats

DBasia.news –  There is no concern from Nasser Al-Khelaifi, PSG President (Paris Saint-Germain), seeing Neymar and Kylian Mbappe leave the club because of FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules. Al-Khelaifi believes both will remain with PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain were very busy in the transfer market last season. After bringing Neymar as the most expensive player in the world, PSG also brought Kylian Mbappe at a price that is not small.

As a result, UEFA investigated PSG’s financial activities which were suspected of fraud. Nasser Al-Khelaifi reportedly used funds from his company to support the two transfers. This is very contrary to the principles of FFP enforced by UEFA.

According to some media in France, PSG needs to sell one between Neymar and Mbappe to escape the FFP sentence. Both players were the target of many clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Even so, Nasser Al-Khelaifi denied this. The president stressed that PSG was in the right corridor related   Financial Fair Play.

“This is not 100 percent, but 2,000 percent. They will remain in Paris,” Al-Khelafi told Le Parisien when asked whether Neymar and Mbapppe will stay.

“Many media, especially in France, claim we need to sell Neymar and Mbappe. I want to confirm that Neymar and Mbappe will remain here,” continued the owner.

“Of course, we want to buy, but within the framework Financial Fair Play. “We believe we have the means to recruit players,” Al-Khelafi said.

PSG has yet to play Neymar who suffered a Metatarsal injury in January 2019. Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani also entered the treatment room. That condition made Les Parisiens shift Mbappe as the main attacker.
