DBasia.news – PSIS Semarang once again succeeded in defeating Perseru Serui with a 4-2 score in the 23rd-week match of 2018 Liga 1 at Moch. Soebroto Stadium, Magelang, Sunday (23/9).
After the match, PSIS Semarang coach Jafri Sastra praised the squad’s performance. Once left behind Perseru in the first round, PSIS revived in the second round, reversed the situation, and won the match.
“The squad was amazing. They came back and revived in the second round. It didn’t mean that the first round was bad, we also made many opportunities,” PSIS coach Jafri Sastra said.
Jafri Sastra added this victory was the hard work result of the players, management, and supporters who came to Magelang.
“Our target to achieve the point is fulfilled and the players played all out throughout the match,” the Padang coach explained.
While PSIS midfielder Hafit Ibrahim said the victory was presented for all supporters and Semarang people.
“Thank God for this victory. Once left behind in the first round but with hard work, we won. This will be the asset for our upcoming match against Persela Lamongan,” Hafit Ibrahim concluded.
Meanwhile, Perseru Serui coach I Putu Gede also praised his squad. “The squad played great in this match. Moreover in the first round,” he said.
I Putu Gede also mentioned the penalty kick of the host. PSIS got the penalty kick following the handball of Perseru player after countering Safrudin Tahar’s kick. The penalty, more or less, was influencing the players’ mentality.
“The situation is like this. It’s not only technical but also non-technical matter. The competition is tight in the top, middle, and bottom, and our players aren’t expecting that,” I Putu Gede explained.
