PSIS Semarang CEO: The Club Will Have Disadvantage If Liga 1 Terminated

Yoyok Sukawi

DBasia.news – As we know the consequence of Persija Jakarta’s supporter, Haringga Sirla, who died due to the attack from Bobotoh, gave the impact to Indonesian football.

PSSI terminated the competition until no designated time. This decision was made after BOPI asked PSSI to terminate the competition for one week.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs asked the competition to be suspended for two weeks as a gesture of respect to the victim. Besides, it would give PSSI time to conduct the right sanction and prevent a similar incident.

PSIS Semarang CEO Yoyok Sukawi said the temporary suspension of 2018 Liga 1 regarding the death of Persija supporter, Jakmania, is unnecessary. He thinks it will be a disadvantage for the club member.

“With the termination of the league, the members get a disadvantage. Certainly, the club budget will be over due to the average budget almost Rp1 billion. The club will be losing,” Yoyok Sukawi said.

Yoyok, as a member of PSSI executive committee, also added that the club and supporters causing the death should be sanctioned to prevent further incident. Yoyok will give his suggestion to PSSI disciplinary committee for point reduction to the club which supporter caused this.

“Hopefully the suggestion will be granted and applied to start from next year. The supporter will be wiser if the club failed to be the champion due to the attack,” he concluded.
