By db-admin
DBasia.news – Ivan Rakitic has finally officially left Barcelona, after defending the Blaugrana for six seasons. Rakitic will join Sevilla for next season, which makes up for a clause of 1.5 million euros, including an additional 9 million euros in several variables.
“FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ivan Rakitic,” quoted from the club’s official website, Tuesday (1/9).
Barcelona, in a statement, expressed their gratitude for the commitment and dedication of the Croatian international player. A farewell ceremony will also be held on Wednesday, Spanish time virtually. “Wishing him all the best and success in the future,” stated Barca.
Rakitic left Barca after six fairly successful seasons. He was instrumental in winning 13 titles, 1 Champions League, 4 La Liga, 4 Copa del Rey, 1 European Super Cup and 2 Spanish Super Cups. The Swiss-born player joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2015 and immediately became a regular in the Blaugrana midfield.
He left Camp Nou after 310 games, with 36 goals and 36 assists. The most unforgettable moment was his goal in the Champions League final in Berlin, beating Juventus 3-1, to lead Barca to their fifth title.
