Rangnick reveals the difference between Haaland and Greenwood

DBasia.news – A 1-1 draw with Young Boys has ensured Manchester United in winning the group. United’s only goal in the match was contributed by Mason Greenwood.

After the game, Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick compared Mason Greenwood to Erling Haaland.

“He showed not only quality because of the beautiful goals, but also how he created chances,” Rangnick said.

The manager called Greenwood a player who had great talent. Not to forget, Rangnick praised Greenwood’s physical development.

“My job is to develop him. If he manages to do so, he can become a regular player,” said Rangnick.

Seeing Greenwood, Rangnick immediately thought of Erling Haaland, the young striker he brought to RB Salzburg while still working as director of sport and development for Red Bull.

“They are different strikers. For me, Erling is a target striker who can play as a lone striker and target-man alongside other strikers in a 4-4-2,” stated Rangnick.

Meanwhile, according to Rangnick, Greenwood is an attacker who can operate as a winger. But Greenwood can also play with other strikers.

On the other hand, Rangnick believes that Greenwood still needs to improve. “I think we have to develop it physically.”

“Technically he can do everything with the ball. I don’t need to worry from a technical point of view, we just need to develop physically and mentally,” concluded Rangnick.
