DBasia.news – One more English player who will play in the German Bundesliga. This time Reading left back, Omar Richards will join Bayern Munich on a four-year contract this summer.
Munich’s interest in the 23 year old player has been going on for some time. Especially after Richards was openly reluctant to extend his contract, which ends in 2021.
Sky Sports reported, Bayern Munich was able to convince Omar Richards to leave Reading and join the Bundesliga team.
Richards has reportedly completed medical tests despite a travel or arrival ban in the UK due to the Corona virus pandemic.
The transfer agreement was reached between representatives of Richards and Bayern on Monday (1/3) local time after a three-month negotiation process.
The former England U-21 international is able to play at left-back to cover Alphonso Davies, or on the left after impressing on the left for Reading in the Championship this season.
Apart from Richard, Bayern are also reportedly targeting Norwich right-back as well as the England U-21 national team, Max Aarons.
