Real Madrid Could Win the Club World Cup Without Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo

DBasia.news – Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is optimist ahead of the semifinal round of 2018 Club World Cup. El Real could win it despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s Absence.

Real Madrid went to the 2018 Club World Cup after winning the 2017-2018 Champions League. In the final round, Los Blancos defeated Liverpool 3-1.

One of the star players in that match was Cristiano Ronaldo. But, currently, the Portugal national team player is supporting Juventus.

However, Ramos believes Real Madrid would be the champion. In the semifinal round, Gareth Bale and friends would play against Kashima Antlers at ZSC Stadium, Wednesday (19/12).

“I don’t think you’ll see much of a difference on the pitch. We’ve got quite a similar team, despite losing Cristiano, who was a very decisive player for us,” Ramos said cited by Express.

Currently, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the teams with the most titles in the Club World Cup. Both Spanish representatives have three titles.

“We’ll compete with the same approach that the club has always taken. Winning is always the objective. We’ve got some really nice memories of it because we’ve been successful on previous occasions,” the defender added.

“It’s a short competition and there’s no margin for error. There’s a semi-final and then a final, and we want to bring the cup back home,” the Spanish defender emphasized.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid raised some polemics. It’s rumored that the 31-year-old player was upset with Florentino Perez who didn’t offer him the contract renewal. Moreover, recently, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mondes revealed that his client wanted to leave Real Madrid since January.
