Real Madrid goalkeeper thinks the result is unimportant

DBasia.news – Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid goalkeeper has been apathetic after losing to Barcelona. He said the results of this pre-season match could not be used as a benchmark.

Real Madrid face Barcelona in a pre-season match, in the United States. In that duel, Barca emerged victorious after winning 1-0 thanks to Raphinha’s goal.

For Courtois, the defeat against Barcelona is not a reflection of Madrid’s appearance next season. Moreover, El Real’s preparation has not been maximized.

“Of course, you can’t draw any conclusions. Some players have trained for two weeks. However, others have only trained for one week,” Courtois said as reported by Marca.

“The most important thing is to try to find a rhythm in order to start the season with a good intensity. In previous years we didn’t have that opportunity.”

“For the first game, we played pretty well. The only thing we lacked was that we couldn’t score. Meanwhile, Barcelona scored a great goal,” said the goalkeeper.

“Our shot hit the post and they had a shot that went into the top corner. In a pre-season game like this, results don’t really matter.”

Instead of being talkative, Courtois gave an example of when pre-season results didn’t really have much of an impact.

“I remember when we lost 7-3 to Atletico Madrid in pre-season. Then, we beat them twice in the league and became champions that season.”

“Pre-season results are not so important. Of course, we prefer to win, especially for the fans in the United States. However, this is only our first match,” added Courtois.
