DBasia.news – Marcelo’s future has finally been answered. The man from Brazil has joined the Greek club, Olympiakos.
After his contract expired with Real Madrid last June, the 34-year-old player never found a new club. In fact, he is rumored to be hanging up his boots this summer.
Prior to joining Olympiakos, Marcelo was linked with several clubs, including AC Milan and Leicester City. However, the deal did not happen and the left-back’s fate became unclear.
However, now he has got a club and will play in Greece. Marcelo was brought on a free transfer by Olympiakos and tied to a one-year contract, plus the option of an extension of one year longer.
Marcelo has been with Madrid for more than 15 years, with he initially signed from Brazilian club Fluminense.
He achieved great success during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, winning 25 titles for Los Blancos, including five Champions League crowns.
In 15 years with Madrid, Marcelo played 546 games in all competitions, scoring 38 goals and providing 103 assists.
