Real Madrid Was Unlucky against Athletic Bilbao

DBasia.news – Real Madrid had bad luck. Hoping for the match against Athletic Bilbao to continue until extra time, but El Real conceded in the last minute.

Madrid were eliminated from the Copa del Rey after falling at the hands of Bilbao 1-0. The San Mames public cheered after Alejandro Berenguer Remiro scored a goal in the 89th minute.

Madrid’s game did not develop according to Carlo Ancelotti’s expectations. He also dismissed the notion that Madrid players were punished.

“Kroos left because he was tired, just like Vinicius. I was thinking about a change to extra time. However, there was no extra time,” Ancelotti explained as reported by Marca.

“Players punished? I have nothing to say. No players have been punished. Ceballos and Vallejo haven’t played either. They are on the same level as the others and haven’t played. We have to be fair.”

“We are hurt because we want to win everything. I don’t think it will have consequences. I hope we will get stronger.”

Carlo Ancelotti admits Madrid lost the figure of Karim Benzema. Meanwhile, Vinicius, who was expected to be a goal machine, actually died.

“We don’t have players of Benzema’s quality. We didn’t change plans and tried to come back from behind. However, we couldn’t,” said the coach.

“I thought we had an advantage if the game went into extra time. But that didn’t happen. They scored in the last minute.”

“We played too much outside. We should have used Alaba and Casemiro more. It didn’t go the way we wanted.”

Ancelotti promised Real Madrid will rise from this defeat. Next, Los Blancos will host Granada (7/2).

“This is not the worst game of the season. The match was balanced until the end. I was surprised by how the game went,” said Carlo Ancelotti.
