DBasia.news – Former Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov, hopes his former club will defend Paul Pogba from the pursuit of Real Madrid. Berbatov considers Pogba as a valuable asset for the Red Devils.
Real Madrid still refuses to surrender in the hunt for Paul Pogba. El Real management wants to fulfill the request of the coach, Zinedine Zidane.
The French coach assess Pogba is a player who will complete the game scheme. Zinedine Zidane is not shy on giving praise to Pogba.
However, Dimitar Berbatov feels Manchester United will make a mistake if they want to accept Madrid’s offer for Pogba. As the 26-year-old player has proven himself when competing against Chelsea.
“Zinedine Zidane wants to bring Paul Pogba to Real Madrid, but after against Chelsea last Sunday, we see the reason why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident of defending Pogba,” Berbatov said as Betfair reported.
“The perfect pass from Pogba to Marcus Rashford in Manchester United’s third goal is what I call pure football,” he added.
“When I played at Man United, Michael Carrick received the ball and his first thought was to go forward. He knew my position well and there were many examples of him giving me the ball to score. Special players save energy for the right moment.”
“If Man United accepts an offer of around 200 million pounds within the next two weeks from Madrid, the transfer will take place. However, I hope that Pogba stays and I am not sure Zidane will step down simply because he failed to reach his target.”
So far, the Red Devils have reportedly set a price of 150 million euros for Paul Pogba. Real Madrid are still looking for fresh funds to fulfill Manchester United’s request.
