Regarding the future, Mane listens to the people of Senegal

DBasia.news – Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has said he will listen to the people of Senegal when deciding his future at the Premier League club amid speculation he will leave Anfield after only one year remaining on his current contract.

Mane, who was said to be joining Bayern Munich in Germany, previously said he would announce a decision after last weekend’s Champions League final against Real Madrid when his side lost 1-0.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin, the 30-year-old player admitted he had seen online polls showing the majority of his compatriots supported his every move in the summer transfer window.

“Like others, I’m active on social media and I see the comments,” said Mane.

“Isn’t it between 60-70% of Senegalese who want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We’ll see. Don’t rush because we will see this together. The future will tell us.”

Mane signed for Liverpool from Southampton in 2016 and has since become an integral part of Juergen Klopp’s side by winning the 2018-19 Champions League and the league title the following season.

He also helped Liverpool win the League Cup and FA Cup last season and contributed 23 goals in all competitions.

Last month Klopp refused to discuss Mane’s future, suggesting the player will be successful wherever he plays.
