DBasia.news – Pahang’s squad wants the achievements of the being the champions in the 2013 and 2014 Malaysia Cup to be repeated again this season.
Hence, Dollah Salleh’s squad craves the fifth Malaysia Cup title after racking the trophy for the first and second time in 1983 and 1992.
Tok Gajah manager Datuk Mohammed Suffian Awang said the success of the FA Cup this season is the best start to recapture the Malaysian Cup.
“Of course we have to show the best performance given the big challenge not only from Selangor or PKNP FC, but Sabah.
“The success of the FA Cup champions has been a key driver for making the sweetest success as it did in 2013 and 2014.
“I hope all players can improve the quality and the best action to beat the opponent,” he said.
Asked on the opportunity of Tok Gajah to cope with Sabah in the Malaysia Cup debut opening at Darul Makmur Stadium this Saturday, he said three points were the priority of the squad.
However, he said, the opponent’s capabilities were not underestimated despite the Premier League this season as all teams had the chance.
“What the players need to do is follow the coach’s instructions and never underestimated the opponent easily to avoid defamation.
“Hence, three points need to be achieved as a motivation to stop the opponent from taking home at least one point,” he said.
