Robert Lewandowski did not move against Slovakia

DBasia.news – The Polish national team will face Slovakia on matchday 1 of Group E of Euro 2020, at Kretovsky Stadium, Monday (14/6). Robert Lewandowski is predicted to be the key player for Bialo-czerwoni to score points.

It is undeniable, Robert Lewandowski is the most valuable player in the current Polish squad. The striker has performed neatly with Bayern Munich.

In the 2020-2021 season, Lewandowski recorded 48 goals in just 40 games. The records is equipped with nine assists.

Not surprisingly, the Polish coach, Paulo Sousa, will put Robert Lewandowski as the spearhead. The former Borussia Dortmund player received support from the second line such as through Karol Linetty, Jakub Moder, Grzegorz Krychowiak, and Piotr Zielinski.

However, Lewandowski’s neat record at club level is no guarantee that it will spread to the national team. The problem is, Lewandowski often appears erratic at the international level.

Statistics recorded that Robert Lewandowski has only scored one goal in his last 10 matches with Poland in major competitions. The last time Lewandowski scored a goal was when Poland played Portugal in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals.

Not surprisingly, Lewy’s lack of contribution also made it difficult for Poland to score goals. Poland have never scored more than one goal in 11 European Cup games.

Furthermore, Poland often experiences stage fright in the opening match. Poland have only won one of their opening nine matches at major tournaments. The other eight duels ended with four draws and four defeats.

Slovakia is expected to put in place Milan Skriniar to defeat Robert Lewandowski. The defender has had a positive season by bringing Inter Milan to Serie A champions. Now, it is interesting to see if Robert Lewandowski can prove his sharpness at the national team level.
