DBasia.news – AS Monaco has continued to dismiss Leonardo Jardim. It didn’t take long for Monaco to recruit a new coach, Robert Moreno, a former Spanish national team coach.
This dismissal is the second for Jardim in the last 14 months. In October 2018, Jardim was also fired and replaced by Thierry Henry. However, AS Monaco was not satisfied with Henry’s performance and re-appointed Jardim three months later.
“On behalf of the president of the club, Dmitry Rybolovlev, I want to thank Leonardo Jardim for all his hard work in recent years,” said vice president of Monaco, Oleg Petrov, as quoted from the official Ligue 1 website.
“Leonardo and his coaching staff have worked as much as possible to maintain the status of the club in Ligue 1 and to finish in a position that is quite encouraging. We want to wish him to continue to achieve success in the future, “Petrov added.
Moreno himself has not received a job after being dismissed by the Spanish national team last November. The 42-year-old man was receiving the tough task to lift the position of Tiemoue Bakayoko and colleagues who are now still in the bottom of the Ligue 1 standings.
“We are proud to announce the arrival of Robert Moreno. We have full confidence in him to be able to bring AS Monaco back to success. Welcome to the US Moanco family, “said Petrov.
