DBasia.news – Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman admits that he still believes in Antoine Griezmann’s ability to score goals. The World Cup winner has been a topic of public debate over his performances at Camp Nou this season, complaining about being played on the right wing when he prefers to appear in the center.
Griezmann has appeared in all of Barca’s five matches this season without scoring a goal, while in the Champions League his shot hit the post twice during the 2-0 win over Juventus in Turin on Thursday (29/10) CET.
Griezmann was one of the most terrifying strikers while at Atletico Madrid, where he scored 133 times in 257 matches. But his productivity in front of goal has fallen sharply since joining Barcelona.
Koeman urged the 29-year-old to continue working hard to find back his sharpness.
“Regarding Antoine, this is bad luck. He did his best with his first shot at goal and it was the same with his second shot,” Koeman was quoted as saying by Goal on Wednesday (29/10).
Koeman asked Griezmann to continue to work hard to score goals. Because to create opportunities for other players, Koeman gives Griezmann a thumbs up.
“When luck is not on your side, the only solution is to keep working. It is the same for all players. The goals will come, I have no doubt about that,” concluded the former Netherlands national team manager.
Barcelona’s victory in midweek was welcomed after they lost in El Clasico to Real Madrid at the weekend.
Barca will return to play this weekend, they will make a trip to Alaves’ home.
