Ronaldo Nazario Cannot Give Suggestions to Lautaro Martinez

DBasia.news – The future of Inter Milan’s young striker, Lautaro Martinez is still a question mark whether to stay with Il Nerazzurri or leave to join Barcelona. This made Brazilian soccer legend, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima gives his views.

Lautaro has been impressive throughout this season. He has scored 16 goals and four assists in 32 matches.

These nicks make his name ogled by a number of big clubs. Barcelona became the most serious to get him.

The situation that Lautaro is facing reminds Ronaldo in the past. The Brazilian bomber experienced something similar in the summer of 2002.

At that time, Ronaldo was the mainstay of Inter and the public idol of Giuseppe Meazza. He was expected to lead Inter to win the Scudetto after bringing his country won the World Cup.

But Ronaldo was in a dilemma after Real Madrid were interested in signing him. He was tempted to become a part of Los Galacticos that was being built by Florentino Perez.

In the end, Ronaldo took the decision to accept Madrid’s offer. It automatically made him hated by Inter fans.

Despite having felt the same way, Ronaldo was reluctant to give advice to Lautaro wether to stay or leave. He believes the 22-year-old player must have made a decision.

“Lautaro is an extraordinary striker who is now in a great team. We’ll see what happens in the coming market,” Ronaldo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I don’t know if he has to stay at Inter as a core player or go to Barcelona to fight for a place there. I can’t determine that and don’t know what’s best for him. I can only say that life is sometimes faced with difficult choices.”

Barcelona indeed made Lautaro as one of their main targets. But El Barca certainly can not guarantee the main place for the Argentine striker.

If joining Barcelona, Lautaro will have to compete with Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, and Ousmane Dembele to be Lionel Messi’s duet on the front lines. He could have fared the same with Philippe Coutinho whose career faded after moving to Camp Nou.
