Rooney still has hope of becoming Man United’s manager

DBasia.news – Managing Manchester United is one of the most difficult jobs in world football. However, this did not make Wayne Rooney hesitate to dream of obtaining the opportunity.

After Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Manchester United struggled to find the right manager to continue his heyday. Names such as David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were unable to meet the expectations of the public and club officials.

No wonder many well-known tacticians think twice about accepting an offer to coach Manchester United. If they fail, their careers are in danger of being destroyed.

Rooney is aware of the great pressure when sitting in Manchester United managerial chair. Even so, he has the ambition to accept the challenge.

“Of course I will (be manager of Manchester United). Manchester United and Everton are two clubs that are very close to me,” Rooney told Sky Sports.

“Hopefully one day I can manage one of the two clubs. It would be a great achievement for me.”

Rooney is not in a hurry to accept the challenge. He realized that he still has to hone his skills in managing a team.

As is known, Rooney’s managerial experience is not too evident. He started his journey with Derby County in 2020.

The 2021-2022 competition will be Rooney’s first full season in charge of Derby County. He has a mission to save his team from the threat of relegation after receiving a 21-point deduction.

“Right now it’s clear that my focus is on Derby County and staying (in the Championship),” he added.

Rooney indirectly rejected the opportunity to handle Manchester United next season. Even though the Red Devils are currently busy looking for a new permanent manager.
