Roy Keane Called Manchester United Will Challenge Liverpool at the Top of the Standings

DBasia.news – Although he often criticizes Manchester United, Roy Keane now sees that his former team has risen. The ‘Red Devils’ are considered to be Liverpool’s challengers at the top.

Manchester United moved up to third in the Premier League standings thanks to a 6-2 victory over Leeds United on Monday (21/12/2020). MU can even go up to second place considering that they still have one saving match.

Collecting 26 points from 13 matches, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team is only one point behind Leicester City in second place. The distance from Liverpool at the top of the table is five points for now.

Former MU midfielder Roy Keane believes that MU now has a chance to compete with Liverpool, at least harassing their rivals in the title race. Note, MU must be better in home games.

All five matches that Bruno Fernandes et al failed to win were at home games. While all six away matches were won.

“They have won games and that’s all you can do. United are in a good position considering how slow they are out of pressure,” Roy Keane said as quoted by Sky Sports.

“If United can improve at home, there is no reason why they cannot compete up there. I think Liverpool are still the best, but there is no reason why United should like their chances, in terms of pressing Liverpool,” added the former Manchester United captain.
