Ruben Dias Agrees to Join Manchester City

DBasia.news – Manchester City officially signed Benfica center-back, Ruben Dias. To obtain the Portuguese defender, Manchester City management has spent 55 million euros (IDR 956.6 billion) plus the center-back, Nicolas Otamendi.

Manchester City approached Ruben Dias after failing in wanting to recruit Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sevilla player, Jules Kounde.

Although not the first choice, Dias’ ability is not inferior to the previous two players. Moreover, Dias is still relatively young, so there is room for development.

Fabrizio Romano reported that after negotiations between the two teams, Ruben Dias finally headed for the Etihad Stadium. He will sign a contract until June 2025.

Under the agreement, Manchester City will also release Nicolas Otamendi to Benfica. If Otamendi is valued at 15 million euros, Dias is priced at 55 million euros. Which means Benfica will receive 40 million euros plus Otamendi.

The 23-year-old player also gave the code that he was headed to Manchester City soon. After the match against Moreirense, Dias said his farewell.

In the duel Ruben Dias was appointed as captain. In addition, he also scored one of Benfica’s two winning goals.

“I am thrilled. This is an important match for me. This is a special moment,” said Dias to BTV while holding back tears.

“I think everyone here can guess why this is. No doubt it is something special. The captain band is also special.
