DBasia.news – Liverpool’s consistency in the Premier League and Champions League is believed to be the magnet of top European players coming to Anfield. One of those interested in coming is reportedly Ruben Neves.
The 22-year-old midfielder became the young star of Wolverhampton Wanderers who shines this season. Neves helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves become a surprise team despite being a promotion club in the Premier League.
Neves, believed by former Liverpool striker (1995-1997), Stan Collymore, will be interested in playing for a club that fought for the Premier League title and become a finalist for the second consecutive Champions League.
“If you are a European champion, then that will be the center of attention. Players in Europe will see the atmosphere this season and the style of football (which is applied). One of them is Ruben Neves,” Collymore said on Goal.
“He has been on the radar of several clubs, a playmaker. He didn’t score as many goals as he should, but he scored important goals.”
“Neves is the type of player you will give the ball in the final third (opponent defense) and he has a vision (playing) like David Silva,” he continued.
Another former Liverpool player, Stev McMahon, also believes that Neves is a player Klopp liked because of his style of play.
“He dictated (the game). He could slow down (tempo) the game, speed it up, see the operands, score goals. It was the type of player he would look for (Jurgen Klopp),” concluded McMahon.
